What is waiver of subrogation?

An endorsement in which your carrier gives up recovery rights against a named party (usually your client) — a standard contract requirement in commercial work.

Why it matters

Clients demand this so your insurer cannot chase them after paying your claim. It is routine — most carriers grant blanket waivers by endorsement when required by written contract — but it must be endorsed before the loss, so send the contract to your agent early.
