What is a-rated carrier?
An insurer graded “A” or better for financial strength by AM Best. The rating measures ability to pay claims — the reason contracts often specify “carriers rated A- VII or better.”
Why it matters
AM Best ratings grade an insurer’s ability to actually pay claims. Client contracts frequently require an “A- or better” carrier, so a cheap policy from a weakly rated insurer can fail your contract review even though it is technically insurance. Every carrier we quote carries an A- rating or better, or we say so plainly.
