What is endorsement?
A written amendment that changes policy terms — adding an insured, a coverage, a state, or a service. If a promise about your coverage matters, it should exist as an endorsement, not an email.
Why it matters
Endorsements are how a standard policy becomes your policy: adding an additional insured, broadening services definitions, covering a new product line. If your work changes mid-term, an endorsement usually handles it without rewriting the policy — tell your agent, not just your renewal.
